Who am I?

Conceived during a re-run of comedy hit ‘Stop! or My Mom will Shoot’ in December 2005, and comedically nurtured as a foetus via regular exposure to MP3 recordings of Shakespearian comedies and Carry On Columbus, David Wain-Heapy was prophetically born on stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2006 to deafening applause.

With Russ Abbot eyes and Larry David’s hairline, David was quite literally born to the stage and his comedy career began with the inevitability of a Ronnie Corbett punch line. His parents attest that David’s first word, akin’ to Picasso’s alleged ‘pencil’, was in fact ‘comedy’.

David’s parents, being no fools and of American descent, were quick to recognise their son’s prodigious talents and entered David into Sunderland’s bi-annual comedy festival in 2008 at the tender age of 2 years old, where he impressed judges with his caustic post-modern observations on subjects as far ranging as his “love” of animals and unemployment. He scooped second prize. As one of Sunderland’s avid comedy goers put it: “He was robbed he was”.

Mixing a timeless dead pan delivery with an erudite insight beyond his years, David Wain-Heapy is currently performing at various comedy clubs in and around London.
